BVNF 2002 Festival

The International Nature Photography Festival 2002 was held from the 1st till the 3rd of November at the Cultural Centre "’t Aambeeld" of Aartselaar (10 km south of Antwerp, Belgium). This was an organisation of BVNF, in cooperation with vzw Pro CC Aartselaar.  

What was on the programme:

Five international guests - nature photographers - presented themselves:

  • Cornelia Dörr (D) – In the Shadow of the Andes

  • Rob Jordan (UK)– Shy and Elusive

  • Willem Kolvoort (NL) – Under the Water Lilies of the Low Countries

  • Bernard Castelein (B) – See you … in Bharatpur

  • Larry Michael (USA) – Abstracts and Patterns in Nature

An exhibition with prints of the best work of our members and a contest "award of the public". The exhibition was open from 29/10 up to 3/11, entrance free.

The programme:

Our five guests held their slideshows Friday afternoon and Saturday during the day: 2 on Friday, 3 on Saturday. The short slideshows from our members were repeatedly shown on Friday afternoon, Saturday during the day, Saturday evening and Sunday afternoon. Sunday afternoon was also the moment when the award of the public was announced.

The audience:

Our goal (4 times a full theatre, in total 1.600 people) was almost reached.
